Systems Engineer - 3665

MSI is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support a large government integrator in Arlington, VA. 

  • This is a unique opportunity to join an Engineering Team being formed to provide the highest levels of expertise and top-engineering recommendations for current & future engineering efforts to this environment
  • Looking for a Senior System Engineer who is familiar with RMF (Risk Management Framework) and DoD information assurance accreditation actions, who is, self-motivated, innovative, with technical hands-on experience in senior systems engineering, who will be part of an Engineering Team that will be leading engineering and modernization efforts for a large enterprise, multi-tenant environment covering various technologies and initiatives including VDI, Wireless, Network, Computer, Systems, Software, and more
  •  The engineering team will touch critical engineering projects that are on-going in the Gov't Agency Engineering Division, and may regularly interface with senior government officials that are GS-15, SES and above
  • The role of Senior Systems Engineer will be focused on information assurance accreditation actions, including RMF, migration from DIACAP to RMF, DISA STIG, ACAS scanning, writing and executing PO&AM’s and more, also technical hands-on engineering with servers, virtual and physical, using Enterprise tools, may need a bit of scripting experience, and high level understanding of Network and Storage architecture required
May also provide technical expertise to less senior engineers supporting projects in these areas, may support special projects or ASI's. This role will include hands-on engineering in our Enterprise IT environment

  • 5+ Years Engineering experience required on large Enterprise systems (5k+ users)
  • Experience in Pentagon/DoD environment preferred, experience with OSD WHS or Pentagon customer also highly desired
  •  Secret clearance required
  • Must be 8570 Compliant on day 1 (Security+ CE, CISSP, CASP, or like certification meeting security minimum requirement)
  • Strong knowledge of information security principles, DoD networks, standards, and systems, and the DoD Risk Management Framework -Experience auditing and documentation systems using DISA auditing tools, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), DISA STIG, and SCAP tools
  • Ability to provide technical information required for verification of security compliance -Perform technical risk and vulnerability assessments of IT and IS for accreditation; prepare risk assessment reports for submission to accrediting officials
  • Review and track Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)'s for all accepted risks upon completion of system Certification & Accreditation (C&A)
  • Plan, test and implement security controls on systems in accordance with directives
