Senior Windows Systems Administrator - 3630

MSI is seeking a Senior Windows Systems Administrator to support our government client in Washington, DC. 


Job Description:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of a large (2000+) Windows Server infrastructure, to in­clude, oversight of Active Directory 2012.
  • Performs advanced troubleshooting of complex system is­sues.
  • Creates PowerShell scripts to automate routine administra­tive tasks and provide system level reports. Leverages expe­rience to provide input to improvements (People, Process, Tools, and Technology) in the environment.
  • Exhibits the capability to resolve issues independently; coordinates and communicates changes and major issues with the client and team members.
  • Researches and recommends innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Develops and maintains standard operating procedures. Contributes to and maintains system standards.
  • Installs new/rebuilds existing servers and configures hard­ware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational re­quirements.
  • Installs and configures systems per approved change requests.
  • Provides problem determination, including interfacing with IT professionals to isolate the root cause of problems.
  • Pro­vides incident resolution and break/fix situations, including dealing with software and hardware vendor technical sup­port.
  • Evaluates, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots application services on Windows servers. Performs software installa­tion, configuration, upgrade, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Provides account management and access control.

Qualifications:

  • BA and 5 years of experience administrating and managing servers and systems, specializing in Windows operating systems.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Active Direc­tory and SQL Server.
  • Must possess a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
  • Server Infrastructure or equivalent.
  • Must have experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, etc.)
