Network Analyst - 3604


Responsibilities: 

Under general supervision, performs moderately complex planning and evaluation of voice and/or data network systems. Assists in network planning and development of standards and applications. Performs network programming, application software simulation and modeling, and operating system integration for distributed systems.

Recommends resources required to maintain and/or expand service levels. Evaluates new products as assigned. Works with an individual business unit on specific project assignments. Guides and advises less experienced Network Analysts. Requires guidance in complex problem areas. Errors may cause minor delay, expense, and disruption. 


Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of three years of experience administering Cisco and or Juniper routers and switches.
  • Must have internetworking background.
  • Must have a minimum of three years of internetworking TCP/IP routing experience
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work effectively under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be team-oriented, placing priority on quality and the successful completion of team goals
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Network related industry certifications a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or Computer Sciences is a plus but not required.
  • UNIX System Admin or Windows Server experience is a plus but not required
  • Expertise in PERL, RUBY, or PYTHON scripting preferred but not required
  • General SQL database knowledge (writing SQL queries, database server configuration and maintenance) helpful
  • Minimum of three years of experience with MPLS configuration and integration within an Enterprise Network
  • Expertise in telecommunications networking with various types of transport equipment preferred but not required.
  • Experience with a transport monitoring application called Telenium which is produced by a company called Megasys which is used to monitor transport equipment alarms, environmental alarms and used to provide a repository for circuits is a plus but not required for this job.
  • Experience with configuring the IP monitoring application Solarwinds is a plus but not required for this job.
  • Two to three years of experience in MPLS is a preferred but not a requirement for this job.
