SAS Administrator - 3594

MSI is seeking a SAS Administrator to support our government client in Washington, DC. 


Job Description:

  • Identify and capture lessons learned, best practices, and information gained during performance of tasks.
  • Provide administration services for SAS 9.4 Linux platform
  • Support both the existing development and production environments
  • Support future versions of SAS 
  • SAS software performance tuning, design, monitoring, capacity and utilization, application security, user support and application upgrades
  • Make accessible to users client updates and provide job aids for users to install client software
  • Ensure bug fixes and security patches are installed
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with VA policy and industry best practices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline
  • A minimum of 2 years of related professional experience.
  • Hands-on experience installing and configuring SAS as a SAS Administrator.
  • Experience in SAS administration, system monitoring, log analysis, performance analysis, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with most of the following tools: Base SAS, SAS/STAT, SAS/GRAPH, Enterprise Business Intelligence, SAS/OR, Enterprise Guide, Enterprise Miner, Text Miner, SAS/IML, and SAS/ACCESS for Oracle
  • Experience in troubleshooting SAS Platform and client issues to root cause.
  • Experience developing support documentation.
  • Dimensional modeling experience
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience extracting and summarizing data from a variety of data sources
  • Previous Department of Veterans Affairs experience
  • Exposure to data mining, predictive analytics, modeling and simulation, and text mining tools
  • IBM Rational toolset experience
