Systems Admin (Server Support) - 3577


Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Specifically, the position will be assigned role of Systems / Cyber Defense Admin, but will have a primary duty assignment as a member of the Principle Services support Team.


  • Server Baseline Development/Sustainment support to include implementing/validating applicable STIGs/SRGs controls; Server installation, configuration & sustainment; Server applications installation, configuration and sustainment; Disaster Recovery (data backups), log file review/analysis, network services fault isolation/problem resolution, Cyber Incident Response (execution); Develop SOPs and map task execution processes.

Required Skills:

  • Windows 7, Windows 2008 & Windows Server 2012 expertise in managing & troubleshooting, including administrative tools for both local and remote access to workstations/servers.
  • STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guides) compliance & applications integration/troubleshooting.
  • Active Directory Administration: Experience with creating/managing Group Policy Objects, Security Groups and User Accounts.
  • STIGS: Experience in both applying STIG controls and validating STIG controls settings. Experience using STIG Viewer.
  • Scripting: Expertise with Command Line scripting VBScript & PowerShell ISO misconfiguration remediation STIG controls.
  • SCAP: Knowledge of SCAP protocols/languages and their application to CND tools. Experience using SCAP Compliance Checker SCC.


  • Current/valid CSWF Security Baseline Certification (per DoD 8140)

Educational Requirement:

  • The minimum education requirement is a four (4)-year Bachelor’s level degree from an accredited college or university in a curriculum or major field of study which either (1) provides substantial knowledge in complex systems engineering, (2) is closely related to the work to be automated, or (3) is in Computer Science, a physical science or a mathematics-intensive discipline.
  • Substitution - Directly related college-level study may be substituted for general experience (unless otherwise indicated in the skill category description) at a rate of one (1) year of study for six (6) months of experience. No more than four (4) years of study may be substituted for experience.
