Patch/Systems Engineer - 3548

MSI is seeking a mid-level Patch/Systems Engineer to support our government client in Egg Harbor, NJ. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists in proactively developing patch and vulnerability management procedures and processes within the security operations team and in conjunction with business and IT partners.
  • Identify and assess security deficiencies and provide patch remediation.
  • Ensure patch configuration is up to date ensuring compliance.
  • Utilize tools to automate patch creation, including defining dependencies, moving labels, submitting build and test requests for major, minor, and patch releases.
  • Responsible for patching assets in test and production environments while ensuring quality.
  • Configure, maintain and administer version control tools.
  • Negotiate, plan and manage patch activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving problems as well as installing modifications on operational systems is required. 
  • Experience developing test and deployment automation scripts and running audit reports to ensure that patching is up to date.
  • Intimate knowledge of testing processes as well as the ability to design the system test, developing test plans and procedures, capturing test artifacts and developing test reports.

Preferred Skills:

  • Windows and Linux from both the users’ perspective and installation/administration.
  • Strong knowledge of networking and scripting.
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the technologies; Cisco routers and switches, HP OpenView, VMware, or oracle databases.
