Linux Admin/Application Support - 3524

MSI is seeking a Linux Admin/Application Support Engineer to support our government client in McLean & Chantilly, Va. This candidate must have an active TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Poly to be considered.


Project Overview:

Client is looking to grow its Context Aperture™ professional services team.  Context Aperture™ is an enterprise platform for managing digital content tailored and scaled to our customers’ missions.  The successful candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a willingness and desire to learn on a daily basis.  The successful candidate will be a customer service and delivery focused professional with understanding that no task is too small or too big.

Candidates will be required to provide day to day administration and application support for primarily UNIX based systems and software used to comprise the Context Aperture solution.  Candidates will contribute to the delivery and integration of Commercial off the shelf (COTS), hardware and software products to meet customer needs.  Assist in the delivery of systems and solutions to customer environments to include both hardware and software systems.  Contribute to the writing and maintenance of program, operations and end user documentation in accordance with standards.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Candidates with a TS/SCI clearance; current FS poly are required.
  • 2+ years of system and application deployment, configuration and support.
  • Professional experience using relational databases to include writing SQL, PL/SQL, DDL.
  • Professional experience with RHEL, LINUX Operating Systems and shell scripting.
  • Understanding of how to get from user requirements to technical specifications.
  • Understanding routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining and monitoring.
  • Ability to work with other departments/organizations and collaborating with other IT staff.
  • Passion for working with customers and ability to communicate effectively with users at various technical levels.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of or experience with AWS cloud-based provisioning.
  • Knowledge of or experience with VMWare or cloud-based provisioning.
  • Knowledge of or experience with SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Experience in project based software development
  • Experience working with COTS/GOTS product vendor and customer support.
