Sr. Project Manager - 3518

Metro Systems is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to support a Top Government Integrator in Washington, D.C. 


Essential Functions.

  • provide technical and administrative management of assigned projects
  • develop technical project plans, reports, and administrative reporting
  • review future project requirements and develop strategies for future work
  • may also perform high level technical services on assigned tasks
  • conduct planning and provide recommendations to client on task workload
  • attend customer meetings and serve as primary project manager
  • coordinate development of deliverables and products
  • ensure quality assurance of project deliverables
  • maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
  • participate in special projects as required

Education and Experience

  • 10-12 years of related experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Experience in managing the entire requirements life cycle process
  • Experience in Project Management and performance of supporting process efforts such a: feasibility assessment, requirements management, trade-off studies, documentation, costs, and risk management
  • Experience in requirements management to include: requirements decomposition (functional, business, technical, system) and requirements documentation
  • Ensures quality project deliverables‎ meet requirements
  • Experience with core PM tools including Microsoft Project, Office Professional (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.). SharePoint, and MS Project Server is a plus.
  • Ability to manage assigned multiple projects, manage work activities, meet deadlines and develop project management reporting in a timely and effective manner
  • Interact with, and freely share information with, other Project Management staff… Building cross dependencies where applicable
  • Experience in Business process reengineering considered a plus
  • Conducting business/systems process analysis and documenting the business process flows considered a plus
  • Knowledge of PM and application development methodologies, tools and techniques
  • An understanding of how an IT Portfolio fits in the overall life cycle process (including updates)
  • ‎When assigned, support the high level coordination of formal projects initiated through OIS governance processes
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and independently; performs work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Coordinates development of project-related deliverables and products such as weekly activity reports
  • Participates in special business operational data calls (e.g., Force Development) as required.
