WMS Project Manager - 3515

A top Client in Charlotte, NC is looking to bring on a Project Manager to help with the implementation of a new WMS solution.  This project will include the development of a new technology and solution that is aimed to be released at the first distribution location (Tampa, FL) by the end of 2017.


Responsibilities

  • Lead project team in the resolution of customer project issues, escalating to appropriate parties as needed
    • Drive resolution for  all project issues including budget, timeline, accounts receivable, scope changes, software functionality and technology
    • Collaborate with appropriate resources on customer's business, organization and culture to strengthen their credibility as trusted advisors
    • Manage client priorities, maintaining consistent expectations and preventing frequent scope changes or development expectations
    • Provide guidance, feedback, coaching, and developmental experiences to project team members
    • Encourage open team environment, gain consensus with all participants
    • Remove or help in navigating organizational impediments to the team
    • Help validate and produce appropriate baseline project plans and templates
    • Work with appropriate parties to plan project resource requirements
  • Provide regular project communication and status reporting
    • Lead process change and serve as a subject matter expert to drive key decisions
  • Interaction with development team
    • Work closely with development team leadership to balance client priorities with team bandwidth, skillsets, and changing conditions
    • Ensure project team adheres to Client’s policies, procedures, methodologies and quality standards
  • Development Methodology
    • Effectively manage client’s prioritized development backlog, sprint backlog, and release plans, while maximizing value and maintaining a view of the client’s overall product roadmap
    • Continually measure results and quickly adapt in ways that remove barriers and enables team success
    • Manage communication and flow of information between client and agile team
  • Cost Management
    • Keep individual and project expenses within budget

Required Skills

  • PMP certification preferred
  • Deep understanding of distribution business processes across multiple verticals
  • Experience implementing WMS solutions
  • Entrepreneurial drive and work ethic
  • Proven experience working as a Project Manager or similar capacity.
  • Knowledgeable in project management best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a software consulting, implementation or development projects.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting and interfacing with Executives
  • Skilled at leading and coordinating across diverse teams to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ability to resolve complex problems with little to no guidance
  • Excellent communication, client relationship and analytical skills.
  • Self-starter / able to work and lead groups independently
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in requirements gathering, root cause analysis, problem resolution, and quality assurance
  • Proven ability to identify potential problems/outstanding tasks, and finding solutions
  • Proven track record with exceptional follow-through
  • Excellent analytical, writing and presentation skills.
  • Significant experience working with global off-shore technical teams across complex implementations
  • Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing software development projects using Agile methodologies, including 3+ years managing large, complex development projects with multi-functional teams
  • Balanced Business & Technical Background:
    • Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly-credible leadership to development teams and to be able to objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues
    • Ability to provide leadership to functional architects and collaborate with customers to develop strategies and solutions of high business value
