Business Analyst - 3073

Metro Systems is seeking a Business Analyst who will assist the Project Manager by collaborating with Finance and Facility staff, the time and attendance vendor (Kronos), and the enterprise Cardinal Payroll project team to upgrade the Kronos product, integrating Kronos and the Financial Management System (FMS) with the new Cardinal Payroll system, and facilitating organizational and business process change in payroll operations.



  • The successful candidate will assist the PM and collaborate effectively across organizational lines to influence line staff performance.
  • Tasks include identifying and documenting business processes, identifying approaches to satisfy business requirements by conducting detailed analysis, documenting gap analysis, developing business and functional requirements specifications, assisting with user acceptance testing, and assisting the PM.
  • Work also involves interpreting technical concepts to both technical and non-technical business users as well as conducting business case development.
  • This individual must support PMO activities related to project time tracking, work plan updates, status reporting, service metric reporting, and related project administration tasks.
  • There may be some day travel required to facilitate on-site training or requirement gathering.


  • 6+ years of demonstrated experience in gathering business requirements and development of business rules and process flow.  
  • Extensive knowledge of business system analysis techniques and testing methodologies. Demonstrable analytical skills and an attention to detail.
  • Excellent creative thinking and problem solving skills; proactive, quality oriented, with demonstrated leadership and teambuilding and communication skills.
  • Proven experience with business process design, definition and/or re-design.                  
  • Experience with Business Analysis methodologies and problem solving.         
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), presentation development and delivery, and written instructions.
  • Capability to get quickly up to speed on complex payroll processing business rules.
  • Candidate should also be rather familiar and proficient with SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
